The project is located in Xingcheng Road Subdistrict, Licang District, Qingdao. The main construction scope includes a new Seawater Desalination Plant, along with supporting upgrades to the seawater lake intake pumping station, raw water intake pump house, and other water intake facilities. External supporting pipelines will also be installed as part of the project.
With a total investment of approximately RMB 707 million, the project is designed to produce 100,000 m³ of desalinated water per day and has a construction period of approximately one year. The system adopts a dual-membrane treatment process.
After completion, the new 100,000 m³/day capacity will be combined with the existing 100,000 m³/day desalination capacity, increasing the total daily production capacity of the Baifa Seawater Desalination Plant to 200,000 m³.
The project will further strengthen Qingdao's water supply security, improve the quality of municipal water supply, and support the city's long-term water resource development.
The treated water complies with China's Standard for Drinking Water Quality (GB 5749-2022).
